Cold Snap

Each creature within a 15-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you can see within range must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes 4d6 cold damage and becomes restrained for the duration, as ice clings to its body. On a successful save, a target takes half as much damage and is not restrained.

A creature restrained by this spell takes takes 2d6 cold damage at the start of each of its turns. A restrained creature or a creature who can reach it can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC. On a success, the creature is no longer restrained.

At higher levels

When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, each instance of damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 4th.
