4th-level necromancy
You attempt to take control of the shadow of a creature within range that is in bright or dim light. The target must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, it takes 4d10 psychic damage as it is attacked by is own shadow. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and the spell ends.
At the start of each of its turns, the target can make another Charisma saving throw. On a failed save the target takes 4d10 psychic damage. On a successful save, the target regains control of its own shadow and the spell ends.
If the target enters an area of darkness, the spell ends.
