You emit a line of intense heat 120 feet long and 1 foot wide in a direction you choose. If the line strikes a creature it must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 5d10 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the target dies, it is burnt to ashes and the line continues. If the target survives, then the spell ends.

At higher levels

When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 3rd.
